K10

K10 is one of the areas in the masterplan for Strandkanten, Tromsø, that is mentioned to become a ’topographic point’. The higher density and building hights this result in demand a concept that takes in consideration the urban qualities of the whole area in addition to the qualities of the project’s own apartments.

The two ’towers’ are placed and planned to optimize every single apartment’s view and sun conditions as well as securing the outdoor areas to be useful at different times of the day and during all seasons – which is of huge importance in the harsh climate at 70°N.

The towers are built up by three different plans repeated ’randomly’ upwards, which gives a unique variation for the apartments, their terraces and the façades, while the structure and shafts stay the same in all floors.
