Collective infrastructure_

Diploma: Collective infrastructure,

public access to the water in Trondheim, Norway:

The project establishes a collective space in relation to sea and harbour, central positioned at Trondheims waterfront. It forms a connection from the city centre, and Trondheims railstation, to the fjord and harbour at Brattøra. A series of sequenses of differentiated public domains connects the different actors of the harbour area. Some of these actors (aqua research labs, public bath etc.) are of a great public value and therefore connects naturally, others has a unrealized potential for public claim. A new field for these actors now appear. The project exposes synergieffects between actors and the public along the new connection. A new boatterminal and an aquarium become integrated parts of a new public space centered in the Brattøra pool. A new structure appears for the public flow, creating a shortcut between huge infrastructural points. It is a physical connection to the sea and a superpublic node in the expanded, central Trondheim.
